We’ve dropped in on a Sunday night because we couldn’t wait any longer to share these photos… Don’t worry, there aren’t too many words to read here, just some incredibly cute cats from the Cat Village in Shoreditch.
With cat cafés popping up around London, there’s some competition, but we’re pretty certain that this one is up there with the best. Particularly now, as they have a ten-week-old litter of kittens roaming around…
The cats are relaxed, sleepy, and very happy to be stroked.
They even pose for photos [you say that, but this one had just launched onto the beanbag in pursuit of a toy, and was very quickly off again!]:
And the kittens, too…
You can order drinks, yummy-looking cakes and even sandwiches (all prepared in a sealed-off kitchen! [although if you’re looking for a hair-free meal, this probably isn’t the place…]).
Not sure the owners have quite as good a system for protecting their IT equipment, though…
There are different sizes, colours and breeds…
And Oscar. Not one of the litter, but also ten weeks old and new to the café, Oscar has replaced my phone background and all waking thoughts of the last two days. Impossibly cute…
With the biggest eyes in the world, and turned-down ears due to his breed…
I just.
Entry costs £5 for an hour and the menu is reasonably priced. The main rule is no picking up (very hard to resist with kittens around!) but sitting on the floor is positively encouraged. We’ve been twice now on a Friday evening, and it’s a very relaxing way to wind down for the weekend…
Find the café here, or spot the kittens’ proud (and somewhat relieved) mother in the window as you walk past…
